Here's a short video of the terrible whale stranding last week on a nearby beach.

Buffels to Simon's Town Pictures

Driving into the reserve this fog bank greeted us. This area is around 300m  above sea level
Looking from the sea
..and looking toward the sea
Setting off
Fog has lifted around us but it's still thick up ahead
This is "up ahead"
and behind us now
and still up ahead
but,  as expected,  it clears by the time we get to the cliffs and caves

Still foggy at Cape Point in the background
These caves are rather large

When I get further pictures or video from the other paddlers I will post them. Derek.

Buffels to Simon's Town 17th March

UPDATE Saturday Midday
Forecast is still pretty good so this trip is ON unless it's changes dramatically - which is unlikely.

UPDATE Friday 16.00
Forecast has moderated slightly and it stays westerly until later in the morning so it's looking much better.

UPDATE Friday 12.30
Forecast is for moderate NW wind so it's not an ideal direction. Let's see what tomorrow's forecast looks like.

This Sunday we are doing a Buffells Bay to Simon's Town for those fit and keen enough. (The usual Simon's Town 9.30am paddle still takes place for those who can't make this one)

Meet at the shop at 8.30am to car pool down to the reserve. As usual we will update here on the blog with new forecasts as they change. The go ahead will be given here and also on this Twitter account which is easier to update and more reliable. You don't need to join Twitter or follow if you don't want to.
